NME Magazine Front Cover
The image used for the front cover is an action shot of the band, so they are all at different levels which creates a scene to the image so you get drawn to each band member by their different position.
The lighting is quite strong in this image and each member of the band is shown clearly so you can tell it was in a studio rather than on a location shoot.
Five colours have been used on this front cover, Red which is usually used on all NME front covers, Yellow, Blue, White and Black. The colours have been used quite subtly so that the cover doesn’t look to busy and they all blend in well with each other. Parts that perhaps they wanted you to notice more stand out well with a different colour background behind the writing. The types of clothes this band is wearing is the typical look for an indie band of this age range. Two of the band members are looking directly at the camera, but the other band member on the left is looking off into the distance out of the side of the magazine. I think they have done this so it doesn’t look like a typical boy band image.
From looking at this magazine cover i would say it is aimed mainly at a male audience, and the age range i would say is about 17-30, and the average age is about 25.
I would suggest that the readers of this magazine are probably not married but are on the verge of looking to settle down with a family. Who have the social status of B/C1/C2.
